• Engine durability beds configurable to client test processes - 24/7 availability typically provides 130 to 140 hours testing per week dependent on the robustness of the engine build level and service requirements
• Base engine test beds adapted to address a project requirements – facilities include specialist capabilities such as tilt where engines may be subjected to both dynamic and static inclination in both loaded and unloaded conditions
• Performance and emission test beds utilize the latest advanced tools and techniques including automated mapping and design of experiments
• For driveline and transmission testing Ricardo provides 2WD and 4WD fully dynamic electrical rigs, a semi-anechoic test chamber, and gearshift durability, functionality and lubrication development rigs
• Ricardo vehicle test facilities consist of 7 chassis dynamometers covering a range of services from emission and durability to NVH, addressing applications from motorcycles and scooters to small commercial vehicles
• A comprehensive range of rig systems is available to support development on components and sub-assemblies
• Ricardo’s chemistry laboratory provides gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy, fourier transform infra-red, and thermal gravimetric analysis
