Nanoparticles: how small can you go? In the urban air quality debate attention is now extending to include the tiniest particles, significantly below the threshold of current regulation. Ricardo is spearheading vital research in this area as well as helping industry comply with existing and future Regulation.

New dimension in design: Following the acquisition of a top Italian industrial and motorcycle design operation, Ricardo can now provide a fully integrated product creation service from first concepts to final production sign-off. This signifies a strategic expansion beyond engineering and technology to become a provider of complete products.

Driveline lightweighting: Led by Jaguar Land Rover, the ULTRAN project has produced an advanced rear drive unit, designed and prototyped by Ricardo, which offers a 24 percent reduction in mass without compromising performance.

Interview: Shinichi Kiga, Nissan group, frontman for Nissan-Infiniti’s bold step into variable compression engines speaks about the new technology’s potential.

RQ viewpoint: Mark Barge, MD of Ricardo Performance Products, on achieving critical mass in high-precision manufacturing – for McLaren, Bugatti, Aston Martin Red Bull and more.
