We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Brisbane team as a Permit To Work Officer / Work Request Authority (WRA) Manager on a fixed term full time contract. This is a key role within the Rail Operations team. The primary responsibility of the WRA Manager is to coordinate access to the system under testing and commissioning without impacting train movements or the integrity of the system, we invite you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall management of the assets within the T&C zone:
- Responsible and accountable for the work request authority process, permit to work and other associated procedures
- Chair regular meetings (WRA Panel) to coordinate WRA from various stakeholders
- Consult with the right subject matter experts (safety, electrical, mechanical, signalling…) to understand the impact of the WRA on the testing and commissioning zone.
- Establish a 4 week outlook window of authorized works
- Review controls proposed to mitigate risks to workers
- Organise lessons learnt from experience
- Coordinate resourcing needs with the Rail Operations Planner
- Prioritise access to the system based on overall projects’ priority
- Consult with programmer/planner
Qualifications and Experience:
- Management or supervision of multi-functional technical teams in a rail environment.
- Completion of Issue work permits certification, preferred.
- Experience in asset maintenance / planning or logistics.
- Good knowledge of rail systems and infrastructure components.
- Excellent understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices within the rail industry.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems used for testing, commissioning, and project management.
