Ruistester 2025 – Reliable Train Safety for ATB systems

Advanced track tester for ATP systems
Ruistester 2025 – Reliable Train Safety for ATB systems

The Automatic Train Protection system (ATP or ATB on Dutch) is a train safety and traffic management system. It is the standard for train safety system in the Netherlands.

Advanced noise test system for ATB systems, Ruistester 2025

The Ruistester 2025 combines proven functionality with modern compliance requirements, making it a dependable replacement for existing ruistesters used in ATB inspection processes.

ATB Background Noise Tester

Dutch ATB train protection onboard equipment must be periodically inspected and adjusted to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The Ruistester 2025 is specifically designed to support this inspection process by accurately measuring ATB track current and background noise levels.

Purpose & Application

The Ruistester 2025 is sensitive to the 75 Hz ATB track current frequency band and enables precise measurement of the track current.

The Ruistester 2025 measures the track current and filters the measured signal according to the characteristic shown below.

Figure 1:
Measurement signal as a function of frequency at a track current of 100 mA (a), and application example (b).

A key requirement of the ATB inspection process is that the background noise level remains below the acceptable limit of 100 mA. The Ruistester 2025 is used to verify this condition. A multimeter is connected to display the measurement result.

Key Features

•    Accurate measurement of ATB track current at 75 Hz
•    Verification of background noise levels (< 100 mA)

End-of-Life (EOL) Strategy

Ricardo Rail follows a transparent and structured obsolescence management process for products approaching the end of their lifecycle. Our End-of-Life (EOL) plan outlines key milestones and provides guidance to customers and partners affected by upcoming changes.

EOL Phase

Description

Timeline

EOL Announcement Date

Official end‑of‑life notification (EOL Notice / PCN / PDN) will be created including:

  • An explanation of the reason for obsolescence (e.g. component unavailability, reduced demand, successor introduction).
  • All key lifecycle dates (Last Time Buy, Last Time Ship, End of Support).
  • Contact information for technical and commercial questions

Not applicable – to be published on this page within 48 hours after supplier notification.

Last Order Date (Last Time Buy – LTB)

  • Final opportunity for customers to place orders for the discontinued product.
  • Migration support may be initiated to help customers assess inventory needs.
3 months after EOL announcement.
End of Support Date
  • End of technical support, documentation updates, and warranty services.
  • If possible, customers are directed toward replacement solutions and long‑term alternatives.
12 months after EOL announcement.
Replacement / Migration Guidance
  • Recommended successor products or upgrade paths will be communicated.
  • Support offered for guidance on compatibility, integration requirements, and technical risk management.
  • Support offered for planning and executing the transition.
Provided throughout the entire EOL period.
Customer Support & Contact
  • Dedicated technical and commercial contacts are available for all EOL‑related questions.
  • Support remains available until the End of Support Date.
Available during all phases until End of Support.
