Using a combination of physical and digital techniques including digital twin, simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HiL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), we reduce development time and cost whilst validating performance for real-world conditions.

Ricardo’s Alumotor is an innovative electric motor designed to reduce cost, enhance sustainability and supply chain security by eliminating copper usage and/or rare-earth magnets. Utilising synchronous reluctance architecture with aluminum windings, the motor offers high efficiency while minimising environmental impact. Advanced oil cooling techniques further improve performance, making it a cost-effective and durable solution for light commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment and other applications.

Its flexibility and ability to apply the unique Aluminum windings to many motor types, ensures an optimal balance between cost and performance.
