Ricardo announces expansion of Michigan facility
- Over $24m investment in Ricardo’s facility in Van Buren Township
- Over 100 potential new jobs expected to be created
- Supported with $885,000 investment from the Michigan Strategic Fund
Detroit, USA. Ricardo, a global engineering company specialising in complex propulsion and energy systems, is today announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Van Buren Township, Detroit.
Ricardo, is set to establish a new manufacturing line in its 74,000 square foot facility in Van Buren Township. The new line will be used to supply a new product for a customer. Ricardo is also undertaking the design, development and industrialization program for this new product.
This project is expected to create 114 new jobs and invest $24,100,000 in Ricardo’s facility in Wayne County. To support this expansion, the Michigan Strategic Fund has offered support through a Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant in the amount of $855,000.
On the expansion, Ricardo CEO, Jason Oms O’Donnell, said: “We're delighted to be growing our footprint in metropolitan Detroit, a region with a long, proud history of automotive technology.
