Biography

Cory is a railway operations and business change expert with more than 25 years' experience in heavy rail and rapid urban systems. Previous roles have included customer service and network operations functions in organisations such as Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains and RailCorp

As an Operations specialist, Cory is responsible for bringing international best practice in passenger experience and frontline operations to the development of Concepts of Operations, service planning and timetabling, workforce planning and rostering, and customer services strategy.

Cory's Story

Cory Roeton commenced his railway career as a Station Assistant, gaining promotion along traditional operations ranks of Signalling, Train Crew and Station Operations through to Line Management roles leading large geographically dispersed Service Delivery Teams, specialising in developing and implementing transformational change and operational improvement.

Cory has extensive experience in operating heavy rail suburban, regional and metro rail networks. He set up and lead the Operations Control Centre team of  Australia's first automated railway, Sydney Metro Northwest, leading the team through project phase to first passenger service, then steady state.

Since joining Ricardo, Cory has supported Australian and international rail projects, specialising in rail operations, maintenance and customer service strategy, organisational design, station and network design development, operational readiness and project delivery.

He and the Ricardo Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team are available for discussion with you on how they can support you in your next project or provide advice and insight to your operating railway.
