Biography
Dr. Dharmesh Kumar is the Business Development Director Middle East at Ricardo. Leveraging his deep technical expertise and commercial insight, Dharmesh collaborates with clients and stakeholders across the Middle East to identify strategic opportunities and deliver tailored low-carbon solutions. He helps organizations unlock value from emerging technologies by aligning innovation with business objectives and sustainability goals. With a strong track record in project origination, feasibility assessment, and commercialization, Dharmesh effectively bridges the gap between technical expertise and strategy to guide clients through complex energy transitions.
With 18 years of experience in the oil and gas, and renewable energy sectors, Dharmesh brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous roles at Shell Plc (16 years) and RTI International (2 years). His career has spanned multiple geographies, including the UAE, Qatar, the Netherlands, India, and the USA, where he has led initiatives in low carbon fuels and products (LCF&P), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hydrogen and its derivatives (e.g., methanol, e-gas, e-fuels), gas-to-liquid (GTL) technologies, and CO₂ utilization.
He has a proven history of successful project delivery, including leading an EPC project at Shell. He has over eight years of experience in the Middle East, and most recently served as Business Development–Opportunity Manager at Shell Markets Middle East Ltd. in UAE, where he focused on advancing low carbon fuels and hydrogen derivatives (e-fuels, e-methanol, SAF), enabled by green/low-carbon hydrogen and carbon capture and utilization (CCU).
