Erika Rankin
Biography
Erika works in the sustainability team at Ricardo as an Associate Director and Technical Lead in carbon management. She leads a team of dedicated consultants who work with a wide range of clients and organisations, supporting them with their sustainability journey and their transition to net zero.
Story
Erika is a Chartered Energy Manager and ESOS Lead Assessor who has been working in the environmental sector since 2006.
Erika specialises in seeking and developing new and innovative solutions to help shape sustainability and net zero carbon services for our customers. She has been involved in developing and delivering net zero roadmaps, as well as supporting both public and private organisations with the implementation of energy projects. She is also involved in helping clients understand their scope 3 emissions and making sure their sustainability journey is aligned with wider practices.
Over the years, Erika’s roles have provided her with a broad range of skills and experiences including:
- Leading on solution development to eliminate and reduce carbon emissions
- Successful delivery of complex projects and programmes
- Experience across a broad range of sectors, from governmental organisations to chemical companies
- Working with and leading diverse and multifaceted teams and stakeholders
- Managing and mentoring junior staff members and supporting technical development of teams
- Development of energy policies and strategies
- Involvement in government carbon compliance schemes (ESOS/CRC/EU ETS/CCAs), both on behalf of the government and private clients
