Eugenia Bonifazi

Biography
Eugenia Bonifazi is an Associate Director at Ricardo, specialising in energy and climate policy. She advises the European Commission and national governments on industrial decarbonisation, carbon pricing, and the technical aspects of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). Her expertise includes assessing the financial and technical feasibility of climate policies, analysing the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on international trade, and shaping strategies to accelerate the energy transition.
She is currently supporting the Commission on the assessments of National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) and Net Zero Industry Act reporting, including assessment of EU level trends, policy and targets in renewable energy, energy efficiency, GHG emissions, and investment needs. Eugenia holds a Master’s degree in Physics and a Diploma in International Development from LSE.
