Biography

Helena Li is a Consultant at Ricardo, specialising in renewable energy, energy storage, and network innovation. With degrees in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Chemistry from the University of Auckland, she combines technical depth with a broad scientific perspective.

Helena has delivered impactful energy projects across the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, supporting both public and private sector clients. Her expertise spans feasibility studies, solar PV and wind energy modelling, long-duration energy storage, and policy research. Recent projects include offshore wind assessments in Gibraltar, net-zero energy planning in South Georgia, and climate resilience reviews for the UK’s Net Zero Innovation Portfolio.

She is experienced in managing complex projects, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering clear, actionable insights. Her ability to communicate technical concepts effectively makes her a trusted advisor to clients and collaborators.

Before joining Ricardo, Helena worked as a Renewable Energy Engineer at Infratec NZ, supporting utility-scale solar developments, and as an Implementation Analyst at Tourism Holdings Limited, contributing to corporate sustainability strategies.

Helena is known for her analytical rigour, collaborative approach, and commitment to advancing low-carbon energy systems. Her international experience and proven track record make her a valuable asset to organisations seeking to transition to sustainable, resilient energy infrastructure.
