Biography

Kate is a water management and strategy consultant with over two decades experience working with government and utilities. Her expertise spans water resource management, strategic planning, infrastructure delivery and operations. Kate specialises in assisting water utilities and government integrate technical evidence and stakeholder insights to develop strategic instruments.

With extensive experience in strategic and resilience planning within the water sector, Kate has developed corporate strategy, water strategies and drought preparedness plans for multiple water corporations and government agencies. Her expertise in strategy and water security planning is underpinned by her firsthand experience in translating strategic plans into effective infrastructure delivery and operations. Prior to joining Ricardo, Kate worked on the feasibility study, design, construction, and operation of the Victorian Desalination Project. She has also worked in water supply operations in Australia and England.

Drawing on this background Kate has developed Urban Water Strategies for multiple water corporations including the Greater Melbourne Urban Water and System Strategy (GMUWSS) on behalf of the Melbourne Metropolitan water corporations. Committed to community-driven outcomes, Kate developed a community-led and Traditional Owner collaborative approach to the GMUWSS development.

A skilled facilitator and strategic thinker, Kate has worked with all levels in government and utilities, subject matter experts, stakeholders and community to inform, develop and review strategic instruments and decision-making processes. A collaborative leader, Kate excels in managing complex projects and stakeholder arrangements. She has a strong record of building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex stakeholder arrangements to draw in valuable insights, and securing stakeholder support for strategic planning initiatives.
