Matt Howells

I initially joined Ricardo as a placement student following completion of my second year at Bournemouth University.

I did this because I wanted to have industry experience under my belt before graduating. I started within the HR/Learning and Development department within the Automotive Business Unit. I found the work engaging and was able to build relationships across the business.

After a few months, still during my placement year, I moved over to the Rail Business Unit. During this stage I supported Employee Engagement and Recruitment. I gained in depth experience in business systems and was hugely supported in my professional development.

After finishing my Placement Year, I kept in contact with the Rail team and once I graduated I was offered the chance to be part of the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Team.

I spent 2 years with them and enjoyed being part of a dynamic and exciting team. Now, I am part of the UK Operations Team, working as a Bid Coordinator.

During my three years with Ricardo, I have valued the opportunities that I have been offered and have enjoyed being able to work across a variety of areas within the business. I’ve been able to build a wide range of skills and still feel like I am continually developing.
