Biography
Experienced public sector executive and specialist adviser in water and climate science, policy and regulation. Performed senior leadership roles in the Australian and New South Wales Governments as a government official and senior advisor to Cabinet Ministers. Led the development of digital products and services, the implementation of policy reforms and major programs, and the publication of national accounts and reports. A trusted adviser to government officials and industry leaders on water and climate matters, including during natural disasters such as the 2019 drought and bushfires and the 2022 floods. Chaired several national technical and policy committees with members from federal, state and local governments. A passionate communicator with significant experience as a conference speaker, panel member and on live television. Possesses unique end-to-end experience of policy development from industry advocacy, to policy and legislative drafting, to parliamentary negotiations and processes, to implementation, review and evaluation. Represented Australia in several international forums, including as Australia’s Hydrology Advisor to the World Meteorological Organisation. Dedicated to supporting governments, and public and private sector organisations to take tangible steps to mitigate climate and water risks.
