Biography

Pete is a highly experienced specialist in low-carbon energy solutions, with a strong focus on Combined Heat and Power (CHP), biomass, and Energy from Waste (EfW) technologies. He uses his 35+ years of experience in the energy and environment sector and his deep technical knowledge to support the development of sustainable energy infrastructure including assessing technologies and evaluating the feasibility of low-carbon energy facilities. 

His work includes extensive monitoring of combustion emissions, as well as commissioning and performance testing of industrial process plants across diverse sectors, including offshore installations. Pete is a CIBSE registered Heat Networks Consultant and a recognised expert in the technical evaluation of applications to incentive support schemes for decarbonised heating systems, such as heat pumps, CHP, and district heating networks. He currently leads a major programme focused on assessing heat decarbonisation projects and provides technical support to clients, alongside two initiatives evaluating high-efficiency CHP systems.

Throughout his career, Pete has worked closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including industry operators, regulators, and public sector bodies. His consultancy work has involved preparing technical specifications, conducting due diligence on projects and tenders, and delivering seminars and training for external organisations. He has advised Local Authorities on procurement for public infrastructure, helping to shape evaluation criteria, assess technical tenders, and finalise contract terms. Pete has also served as a client’s on-site representative during the construction of new medical waste incineration facilities, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the build.
