Quality Manager
Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a Quality Manager who will be responsible for leading and developing the RPP Quality Assurance and Compliance functions.
Key accountabilities
- Leadership and responsibility of internal and customer quality processes and teams.
- Consistent and clear communication with the customer, acting as first point of escalation for quality related issues.
- Focus on issue resolution, continual improvement and customer perception and support.
- Drive the delivery of key KPIs related to quality and supporting business performance within budget, including RFT, customer complaints, problem solving, continual improvement, scrap and quarantine inventory.
- Reduce risk of impact to OEE, delivery to customer, and quality escapes by implementing proactive quality improvements and reacting to new issues with robust containments and corrective actions.
- Ensure the deployment of key core tools throughout the business, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
- Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with the required industry standards (including: IATF16949, ISO14001 & ISO 9001), accreditation requirements and business requirements across the organization.
- Monitor, control and improve the quality and effectiveness of all processes throughout the Powertrain Assembly business. Manage the audit program to ensure that all non-conformances raised are corrected and verified in good time.
- Ensure the quality and compliance team are competent to deliver the internal audit program, providing training and guidance to the team on the requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Embed a culture of process adherence, continuous improvement, and quality accountability throughout the company. Lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for our customer and business goals.
- Responsible for reporting on all aspects of quality assurance and compliance throughout the business. Including reporting in regular reviews with the customer, and delegated responsibility for reporting in management and customer reviews for the Head of Quality, where required.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on the QMS.
Technical skills, experience, and knowledge
- Automotive Quality Management System Auditing experience and managing audit programmes
- Experience of the Implementation of improvement projects in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership and man-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
- Organising and conducting employee training
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Commercially aware
Desirable
- Relevant engineering degree, equivalent qualification
- Knowledge / experience of 5S / LEAN / Six Sigma processes
- Knowledge of Health, Safety Regulations
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
- Experience of APQP processes
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
- Full driving license
