Our vision is to create a safe and sustainable world.
Ricardo plc is a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consulting company, listed on the London Stock Exchange. Ricardo’s Policy, Strategy & Economics Practice supports governments and corporate clients all over the world with policy analysis, strategic advice and economic appraisal to address the most pressing challenges relating to climate change and the environment, energy and mobility. We deliver ground-breaking, state-of-the-art projects that are influential in changing hearts and minds and have tangible, positive impacts for individuals, communities, organisations, nations and the planet as a whole.
The Climate Change & Environmental policy team at Ricardo works with governmental and private sector organisations on the development, implementation and evaluation of environmental policies, strategies and plans. Our clients operate at the heart of policymaking and need impartial evidence. Our objective technical expertise and robust research generate high-quality analysis that stands up to scrutiny. We deliver this specialism across several environmental policy thematic areas, including chemicals policy, industrial pollution policy, air quality policy, circular economy, green finance, climate mitigation and adaptation.
We are looking for Analyst Consultants with a ‘can-do’ approach and enthusiasm to contribute primarily to industrial emissions and circular economy policy. You will work on leading edge science, data, policy, research and capacity building projects for clients including the European Commission, UK and other national governments, industry and NGOs. You must have strong quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills and an interest in continuous learning.
Why choose us?
• Make a real impact - contribute to projects that shape policies and strategies with lasting environmental, health and societal benefits.
• Collaborate internationally - join a diverse, multinational team and engage with experts from across Europe.
• Supportive team culture - experience a friendly, inclusive environment where collaboration and knowledge-sharing are part of everyday life.
• Grow your career - benefit from hands-on mentorship, tailored learning opportunities, and exposure to a wide range of exciting projects.
• Dynamic work environment - from day one, work closely with senior consultants on impactful, real-world challenges across Europe and beyond.
The role
As an Analyst Consultant, you will:
• Support project delivery, such as through primary and secondary research, stakeholder engagement, data management and analysis, qualitative analysis, report writing and presentations.
• Work on multiple projects, managing your time and contributions effectively.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to provide actionable solutions for chemicals-focused policy and strategy challenges.
• Gain valuable skills in research, analysis, and client-facing communication.
What we are looking for
• A degree in science or engineering, preferably including modules relating to industrial processes, air and water pollution, environment and/or policy.
• A passion for environmental and/or human health issues.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data to support evidence-based solutions.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal. You can simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences, including producing high quality written outputs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word are key)
• A collaborative mindset—you’re a team player who thrives in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English (Spanish required for roles in Madrid; other languages are a plus).
• Existing awareness or experience of working on industrial emissions and circular economy policies and strategies in the EU and the UK would be advantageous.
Visas and Sponsorships
In light of recent updates to UK Government immigration salary thresholds, Ricardo is currently unable to offer sponsorship for post-study work or Skilled Worker visas as part of our early career programmes.
Whilst this means we are unable to support visa applications under the current criteria, we remain committed to reviewing our approach in line with any future changes to immigration policy. We value the diverse talent that international graduates bring and will continue to monitor developments closely.
