CMM Programmer
The Role
We are looking to recruit a CMM Programmer to ensure the dimensional accuracy and quality of manufactured components by programming and operating Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), supporting quality assurance processes, and contributing to continuous improvement in manufacturing precision.
The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing coordinate measuring machine programs to ensure accurate and efficient inspection of manufactured components. This role plays a critical part in upholding quality standards and supporting production goals through precise dimensional verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and prove out CMM programs using MCOSMOS software including CAT1000 from 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Perform dimensional inspections of components using CMM and other precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
- Perform dimensional inspections on first articles, in-process parts, and final products.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD models.
- Analyse inspection data and generate detailed reports for internal use and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and inspection processes.
- Ensure programs are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with product specifications and tolerances.
Key Comp
- Proven experience as a CMM Programmer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in Mcosmos CMM programming software.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineers’ drawings.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
