On 25 April, Ricardo teams in Australia are proud to be marking ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) Day.
Here, Stacey Carpinter from our Melbourne office explains why this day is so important, and how the teams are marking it.
“ANZAC Day is a national remembrance day in both Australia and New Zealand to commemorate those who have served (and died) in war. ANZAC Day originally began after the Gallipoli campaign in the First World War where Australian and New Zealand forces sustained heavy casualties. Since that time, it has come to encompass all military service personnel.”
“ANZAC Day is is a national holiday in Australia and New Zealand. It is marked by dawn services across both countries and incorporates music, wreath laying, music and two minutes of silence. Members of our teams in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide often choose to mark the day by paying their respects as these dawn services.”
