A leading manufacturer of maintenance and cleaning products, WD-40 Company Limited (“WD-40”), wanted to achieve and maintain compliance for the chemical mixtures placed on regional and global markets by centralising the management of their Poison Centre Notifications. With over 84 mixtures in its portfolio, and no in-house regulatory and compliance expertise, the burden of horizon scanning was considerable leading the company to seek a more efficient solution.

To support WD-40, Ricardo's specialist chemical regulatory team delivered a tailored solution that combined the management of Poison Centre Notifications with expert consultancy on regulations and compliance requirements, as well as the preparation and entry of over 350 submissions to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) while ensuring compliance with regional regulatory requirements, including those outside of the EU.

In addition, Ricardo provided ad-hoc consultancy on a range of regulations, including:

• Support with country-specific regulations to ensure market access as they expand into new territories
• Support on whether they can use a new supplier for their ingredients
