Oliver (Olly) is a qualified economist with four years’ experience working at the interface of economics and water resources, readily utilising data driven analysis to inform policy decisions. He has a variety of recent project experience that focuses on economic analysis, agriculture, and water policy. Relevant project experience includes valuing water across a range of agricultural uses in the Mount Lofty Ranges to determine the direct and downstream economic impacts on regional communities of simulated water recovery scenarios, developing net margins for irrigated wine grape production in the Lower Limestone Coast, and developing socio-economic indicators in the Murray-Darling Basin to inform potential water recovery options for the Commonwealth.
Olly was also a part of the team that reported on the economic impacts of DPE’s proposed Floodplain Harvesting Policy. Olly’s experience has centred on delivering analysis involving complex economic and financial modelling. Olly was a key contributor to modelling the impacts of pattern approved meters in QLD and VIC (separate projects); developing a model to estimate future water requirements to achieve the Ag2030 target; and multiple economic analysis of major water infrastructure projects across Australia.
