Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus benefits, depending on experience

Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a Buyer to support the purchasing of high value, low volume, technically complex automotive components.

• Purchasing of high value, technically complex, low volume components, and raw materials, including monitoring of on-time delivery.
• Reporting of KPI measures.
• Daily expediting to achieve excellent OTIF and avoid any parts supply issues.
• Negotiating on price and terms with suppliers.
• Assisting with material forecasting based on data analysis.

Technical and professional skills, knowledge, and qualifications

• Experience in purchasing ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Reporting according to KPI measures.
• Daily expediting to achieve excellent OTIF and avoid any parts supply issues.
• Internal and external customer focus, problem solving and query resolution.
• A good level of knowledge and use of the MS Suite, particularly Excel for V Look ups and Pivot Tables.

• Experience of buying raw materials such as steel, castings and forgings would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
• Automotive or aerospace experience or awareness of those industry’s processes.
• Experience of working with MRP/ERP systems for manufacturing.
• CIPS qualification.
• Advanced Excel.
