Junior / Graduate Engineer – Calibration

About the Role

Ricardo is looking for the next generation of engineering graduates to join our global automotive and industrial team. You will be using your specialist skills in mechanical, automotive, mechatronic, or aerospace engineering to consult with our clients to come up with innovative solutions to their requirements. You will be applying your specialist knowledge to a broad range of market sectors including passenger car, heavy duty and commercial vehicle as well as marine, off-highway and aerospace. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical development of engine, transmission and hybrid powertrain calibrations
  • Technical development of advanced propulsion systems including fuel cells, H2 ICE, BEV, etc.
  • Calibration development on a test bed, rigs, chassis dynamometer, on-vehicle (both test track & public roads) and remotely (desktop based)
  • Calibration development including, but not limited to base engine calibration, emissions, diagnostics, drivability, BMS, etc.
  • Technical analysis to achieve tasks with sound evidence base
  • Responsibility to deliver tasks on time, cost and quality
  • Reporting of technical status internally and to customers
  • Cooperation with team members
  • Interface directly with clients on technical issues

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant science-based field, supported by technical expertise in automotive systems, control engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Good understanding of internal combustion engines fundamentals.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems. 
  • Methodical approach to issue investigation and resolution.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team. 
  • Organised and rigorous with personal target of high-quality delivery. 
  • Literate in IT systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point) .
  • Prepared to travel within the Czech Republic as well as internationally on short assignments. 
  • Good English language skills, both written and verbal for project and technical communication.
  • Eligible to work in Czech Republic.
