From local dispersion assessments to national modelling programmes we support a comprehensive range of assignments.
Better Air Quality (BAQ) Conference 2026
Ricardo, a member of WSP, at BAQ Conference 2026
For over 70 years, Ricardo, a member of WSP, has delivered market-leading measurement, modelling, and emissions inventory compilation and reporting for air quality pollutants and greenhouse gases. This heritage has provided the key evidence which supports internationally leading air quality policy, legislation and technical resources initially in the UK and Europe, and now Asia.
We are building on this to share our expertise with cities and national governments worldwide, with substantial air quality policy, monitoring, modelling and capacity programmes, throughout Asia (including: Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Bangladesh and many more), South America and Africa. We work in partnership with international funding agencies, city and national authorities and civil society organisations to deliver cleaner air quality for many of the world’s most vulnerable people.
We’ll be at the conference to share insights from our latest work helping cities and national governments achieve cleaner air for their communities - read on to find out more. We will be looking to actively connect with cities, governments, and international funders who are shaping the future of sustainable urban development. We’ll also be marking the start of our work on the next phase of the Asia Clean Blue Skies program on behalf of the Asian Development Bank. Whether you’re a funder, policymaker, or practitioner, we’d welcome a conversation.

Providing the emissions evidence base to enable cost-effective mitigation of pollutants, supported by expert advice tailored to your needs, including dedicated support to governments in developing robust, decision-ready inventories.
Utilising the latest data visualisation techniques we help you understand the influence of different sources on measured levels of air pollutants.
Our work provides the bedrock for many national air quality monitoring networks, enabling us to be ideally placed to deliver tailored air quality monitoring solutions for clients in the public and private sector.
Our projects

How we can help
Independent QA/QC of air quality sensor data
Air quality sensor data can be misleading without proper correction and ongoing QA/QC. We ensure reliable, real-world representative measurements suitable for public health, traffic management, and Smart City applications.
Getting more from air quality data
Ricardo's RapidAir® software provides a much-needed
diagnostics and decision-support capability to help tackle the challenge of improving urban air quality.
Air pollution emissions reporting
Providing you the tools to estimate and report on your organisation’s air pollutant emissions and greenhouse gas emissions, supporting good corporate environmental, social, and governance performance.
Developing evidence-based air quality mitigation actions
Ricardo experts utilise their extensive skills to anaylse and understand air quality issues to support informed decision-making around air quality mitigation.
Health and Economic Assessments
Ricardo has experience in quantifying the effects of actions and policies on ambient air pollutant concentrations and using this to evaluate the resulting benefits for health and quality of life and delivering economic assessments to calculate the economic value of these benefits.
Low Emission Strategies
Ricardo’s expertise in policy and air quality evidence base development underpins our developing comprehensive approaches and policies designed to contribute to achieving Net Zero objectives, reducing emissions of both greenhouse gases (GHG) and air pollutants.
Understanding real-world driving emissions
By accurately measuring real-world driving emissions, we deliver the local insight necessary to inform the cost-effective design of low-emission policy.
Low Emission Zone Maturity Assessment Toolkit
Delivering a successful Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requires strong evidence, institutional readiness, technical capability, and stakeholder alignment.
Ricardo’s LEZ Maturity Assessment Toolkit supports cities and national governments to assess their readiness for LEZ implementation and identify the practical steps needed to move from policy intent to effective delivery.
