Hyundai Motorsport, customer of Ricardo’s performance products business unit, claimed 1st and 2nd position at Rally Sardinia in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).
Belgians, Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wyadaeghe, secured the win 33 seconds ahead of Finnish pair Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm after overcoming challenging conditions caused by unseasonably wet weather.
The victory puts Neuville and Wydaeghe 2nd in the standings ahead of Safari Rally Kenya 22-25 June.
Ricardo supply Hyundai Motorsport with drivelines for both Rally 1 and Rally 2 championships. The gearbox and rear axle for the front-engined, four-wheel drive vehicle are designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested at the Midlands Technical Centre (MTC) in Leamington Spa, UK. Ricardo also manages spares provision from their Midlands location for Hyundai.
