Our emergency response service has the following features to help companies respond effectively to the release of hazardous substances:

  • Available at all times.
  • Rapid connection to an expert (within 3-5 minutes).
  • In the local language (multilingual).
  • Advice tailored to the circumstances.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and chemical behaviour.

Chemical regulatory compliance

As your trusted REACH partner, we can support you to manage the impact of EU and UK REACH on your business by completing your notifications and provide ongoing help and support throughout the process.

We can:

  • Review your dossier to fill data gaps, strengthen justifications for adaptations and help to establish if all appropriate information has been gathered to reduce the likelihood of ECHA requesting further information.
  • Submit your DUINs.
  • Act as your UK REACH Only Representative (OR) from our GB entity and EU REACH OR from our Netherlands entity.

If you are placing mixtures that are hazardous for health or physical effect, or biocides, on the market, then NCEC can manage your responsibility under CLP, and wider GHS. We can support you through SDS authoring and manage your poison centre obligations

Over the past decade, we have developed a flexible approach to life cycle assessments (LCAs) that has delivered value for a diverse range of businesses.

Ricardo has been helping organisations work towards net zero across numerous sectors including food and drink manufacture, waste and resource management, NHS, police, water, shipping and more. With our deep knowledge of the chemicals sector, we are perfectly placed to support you, whether you are just starting to plan your journey to net-zero carbon emissions, or already have a roadmap in place and need support to deliver your ambitions

The appearance or movement of your substance within global regulatory lists may require you to take actions such as phasing out a certain substance from your product range, altering its concentration, or introducing specific workers' safety procedures.

Our horizon scanning tool performs a substance inventory check and identifies whether your substances appear on any global regulatory lists. It provides the results in a clear, easy-to-read report, where you can quickly determine the most recent status of your substances.

Our chemical experts conducted a study commissioned by Cefic on the economic and business impacts of the EU CSS.

According to this first study, as many as 12,000 substances could potentially be in the scope of the two upcoming legislative proposals alone - the changes to Classification, Packaging and Labelling Regulation (CLP) and the application of a Generic Risk Approach (GRA).

The companies consulted indicated that around one third of this most likely affected portfolio of 28% could potentially be substituted or reformulated. Most significantly impacted downstream sectors are expected to be adhesives and sealants, paints, washing and cleaning products.

Our experts are members of working groups across ECHA, HSE, BEIS and Defra, and can help you understand the impact of legislative changes and upcoming chemical policies, such as the European Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, and what steps you need to take to remain compliant.
